In Spring 2015 the Trust’s People Affected by Dementia Programme ran a number of collaborative workshops on several topics that people living with dementia and carers had identified as important them. These were:
- End of Life Care
- Legal Rights and Services
The purpose of these workshops was to pinpoint action that could be taken by the Trust, in collaboration with others who have expertise in each of the areas. In the next few months, discussion papers and reports from these workshops will be published on our website. From the workshops, steering groups have been convened that will bring funding proposals to the Trust in 2015 and 2016. The Trust hopes to fund a number of these proposals where it is clearly demonstrated that they will create better lives for people living with dementia and/or carers.
Music and dementia
One of the discussion papers was on music and dementia, written by Emma Reynish and Corrine Greasley-Adams of the University of Stirling. This paper is being presented as a poster at the Alzheimer Europe Conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia, 2-3 September 2015.
